My New Solar panel setup is installed and ready for some off grid adventures, I purchased the “Renogy 200 Watt 12 Volt Solar Starter Kit” review to come shortly.
Yesterday with the help of one of my good friend Todd Chuma’s help we installed two 100 watt panels on the roof of my RV “petey” and the controller.
This morning i wake up to a cloudy day but they seem to be working.
The controller does not come with an actual meter letting me know exactly how much im getting from them but i will later add that as well as another 2 panels for a total of 400 watts which should be good.
I was quoted $400 to $800 to have a mobile “professional rv guy” come out and install them. Now im sure he or she would have drilled a whole and tucked and hid the wires better than we did, but id rather have a wire or two visible than go broke . maybe that’s just me, and if in the future the wires which are not that visible get to me, well then i can always hire someone to run them hidden in the walls.
I chose the renogy system because it seemed complete , and simple and got rave reviews from solar beginners and to advanced alike. The 200 watt kit comes with everything you need to get started and although mine was missing the instructions i easily found them on-line.
I will do an actual Video review of them, and how i installed them once I test them out.
